SSL certificates will now be limited to a 199‑day validity period, meaning even a "one‑year" certificate must be re‑issued after that time.
DigiCert introduced this change on 24 February 2026.
Sectigo will implement the same change starting 12 March 2026.
Certum will implement the same change starting 13 March 2026.

DigiCert has announced an extended timeline for removing the Client Authentication (clientAuth) Extended Key Usage (EKU) from its public SSL/TLS certificates. The new deadline is March 1, 2027.
The CA/Browser Forum decided to gradually reduce the maximum validity period of publicly trusted Code Signing certificate from 39 months to 460 days, effective for certificates issued on and after March 1, 2026.
